This work explores how products, services, and physical places can gain a conversational layer that helps people understand them, engage more deeply, and ask questions in the moment of interest.
Problem / opportunity
Most products and venues are silent. They can be seen, touched, or browsed, but they cannot explain themselves, answer contextual questions, or learn from the interaction they generate. This creates a gap between curiosity and understanding.
At the same time, organizations increasingly need:
- Richer product communication
- Better customer understanding
- Multilingual interaction
- More dynamic customer-facing experiences
- Stronger bridges between physical and digital experiences
What the system does
Talking Products and Talking Venues bring conversational interaction to physical or service-based experiences. A person can ask a product, place, or service questions directly and receive answers grounded in relevant knowledge, rather than needing to search elsewhere or rely only on static content.
This can support:

- More engaging customer journeys
- Context-aware interaction
- Multilingual support

My role
I have worked on concept creation, product strategy, user journey design, interaction model design, architecture thinking, communication logic, and how these systems should fit into broader customer experience and business contexts.
Product / UX perspective
The main UX challenge is avoiding gimmick behavior. The interaction has to feel genuinely useful. It must answer real questions, support the customer journey, and reflect the character and context of the product or venue in a natural way.
Key UX questions include:
- What kind of questions matter most in context
- How the interaction starts
- How much brand personality should be expressed
- How the experience differs in-store, on-site, or at home
- How conversational interaction becomes a real part of the experience, not just an add-on
AI / architecture perspective
These systems require:
- Structured knowledge
- Conversational design
- Interaction routing
- Update-friendly content flows
- Insight capture from interaction
- Optional connection to broader systems
A key strength is that the system can convert static information into dynamic dialogue while also making customer interest and behavior more visible.
Key design lessons
- A conversational layer works best when it is designed as part of customer experience, not as a novelty feature.
- The real value is not only in answering questions, but in learning from what people ask.
- Physical products and places are still underused as digital interaction surfaces.
- The most useful experiences start from context and customer need, not from AI as a gimmick.
This area is especially interesting because it brings AI into the market side of the world, where products, places, and services can become more understandable, interactive, and valuable in real customer moments.

The most important customer questions are asked when the brand isn't in the room — at the shelf, during first use, throughout the product lifecycle. The core idea: print is permanent, but the experience behind it is fluid. Different QR codes provide different contexts, but they all lead to one evolving knowledge base the brand controls and updates in real time — improving at the speed of learning, not the speed of print.

Talking Venues — venues that listen, adapt, and improve
Talking Venues applies the same conversational layer logic to physical spaces — shopping malls, hotels, event venues, and more. Visitors can ask questions in the moment, in their language, and the venue learns from every interaction. Below are two examples of this in practice.
